It’s not typical for a rocker to be on Broadway, but it’s been done. Elton John, The Who, Paul Simon and more have stood under the bright lights in NYC. Now we hear that the boss, Bruce Springsteen will also be on Broadway this fall, much like musicians take residency in Las Vegas.
Reportedly appearing at the Walter Kerr Theatre (seating less than 1,000) it’s likely that the production will be autobiographical in nature, as Bruce just released ‘Born to Run’ his memoirs this past Spring.
Recently, Bono from U2, Meat Loaf, Sting, Bon Jovi, and Green Day have all made the transition to Broadway to expand their fan base and get off the road. If you count the incredible entertaining show ‘Rock of Ages’ there have been many rockers that played the heart of New York.
