Bob Seger recently announced a new LP called ‘Runaway Train’ due out in the fall, and a companion live concert tour around the same time. The Bob Seger story is an inspiring one to hear…
You might think that at the age of 13 when your dad leaves home, your family penniless and near ruin, that life would be short and painful. You would be right if your name wasn’t Robert Clark Seger. Bob and family weathered the storm early in his life, with Bob realizing at the age of 16 what his purpose in life was; Bob was born to rock!
Bob wandered in a few garage bands until the ‘Herd,’ the ‘System’ (Bob as front man) generated regional success and albums sales with the singles ‘2+2 is On My Mind,” and “Ramblin’ Gamblin’ Man.”
Bob’s music has been featured in Beverley Hill Cop II, and his songwriting talents led him to co-write the Eagles smash hit “Heartache Tonight.” Bob was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, and the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2012. He was also named Billboard’s 2015 Legend of Live honoree at the 12th annual Billboard Touring Conference & Awards in the fall of 2015.
Bob lives in both Michigan and Naples Florida and is the father of two children.
