Jefferson Airplane Continues to Hit the Road

In the late 60s a band of progressive rockers and thinkers called ‘Jefferson Airplane’ had a slew of hits including “White Rabbit,” “Somebody to Love” and “Wooden Ships” that put them on the San Francisco music map. As we all got older, Airplane changed their name to Jefferson Starship, rotated a few members and hit the charts with “We Built This City,” “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us,” Sarah,” “Miracles” and “Find Your Way Back.”

Now, some 50 years later, Paul Kantner is gone, Grace Slick no longer tours, but the Starship will still tour this spring and early summer. Sitting in for Grace will be Cathy Richardson, whom has Grace’s blessing. The tour is called ‘Carry the Fire’ tour and is designed to be a tribute to founding member Paul Kantner.

Incidentally, everyone seems to overlook the original lead singer of Jefferson Airplane, a wonderful girl by the name of Signe Toly Anderson. Signe left the group to start her family. Sadly, she also passed away in January of 2016.

So far, here are the Jefferson Starship ‘Carry the Fire’ tour dates…
