The talk of the NBA for the past few weeks has been Russell Westbrook and his quest for the triple-double record. Just the other day he broke that record and did it in amazing fashion. The record was held by Oscar Robertson from the 1961-1962 season, but was broken with Westbrook’s 42nd triple-double on Sunday.
Westbrook has been quite amazing and finishing that record-breaking performance on Sunday with 50 total points. At the end of the day he scored 50 points, brought down 16 rebounds and dished out 10 assists. Did we mention that he shot the game winner to eliminate the Nuggets from playoff contention?
What an amazing season Russell Westbrook has had. His final numbers this season will be in the range of 31.9 points, 10.4 assists and 10.7 rebounds. There are still two games left in the season, but his triple-double average is no longer in jeopardy.
