One of our favorite bands Steely Dan is taking residency in Las Vegas in April at the luxurious Venetian, giving you a chance to have some Vegas fun while taking in the concert of a lifetime.
Did you know that ‘SNL’ alumni Chevy Chase once played (drummer) with the boys under an early name while attending prestigious Bard College, where Walter and Donald met? Jeff Porcaro and David Paich also recorded sessions with Walter and Donald, showing up on albums before Jeff and David left to start Toto.
The opening guitar riff of the single “Reelin’ in the Years” was performed by Elliott Randall, and is ranked as one of the best riffs of all time. The boys were familiar with Elliott from their ‘Jay and the Americans’ touring days.
Be sure to catch Steely Dan at the Venetian, April 12, 14, 15, 17, 19, 21, 22, 25, 26, 28 and Saturday April 29th. Tickets and more information can be found at venetian.com.
FYI – Steely Dan just added a show at Humphreys in San Diego on April 18th.
