Ronda Rousey is Still Our Champion

Ronda Rousey has been in the news recently, losing a comeback bout a few weeks ago against Amanda Nunes in less than 60 seconds. She is however still a warrior, a fighter and a groundbreaking athlete in the sport of MMA.

She made her amateur debut in 2010 and in 2013 became the first female fighter to join the UFC. It took only a few months for her to become the first female fighter to headline a UFC event, working her way up to becoming the fiercest female MMA fighter in the world, ranked at number one. Times have changed though and the sport has evolved, putting many great female fighters in the ring these days.

Ronda is from Riverside, California, growing up in a typical middle class family with one exception; her mother was a decorated Judoka, the first American to earn a World Judo Championship in the mid-80s.

Ronda has spent her time wisely outside the ring, working on her acting career. She’s appeared in the film ‘Expendables 3’ and ‘Furious 7.’ We bet that she will tell you however, that the most fun she’s had in Hollywood was appearing as herself in the recent film ‘Entourage.’
