Mediabase ranks the best songs of the week every week and this time we get to look at the best songs of the entire year! It’s the end of 2016, so that means the Mediabase Top 40 end of year chart is out!
Twenty One Pilots had the top hit of 2016, but can you figure out which one it was? Their hit, “Stressed Out,” outperformed everyone else this year, finishing up at that top spot. Justin Bieber had an impressive 2016, rounding out the top three with his songs, “Love Yourself” and “Sorry.”
For the amount of success Drake and Rihanna had this year, it’s surprising to see them not at the top. Drake’s best hit was “Once Dance,” which finished at number nine while Rihanna’s best hit was “This Is What You Came For,” the collaboration that finished 10th this year.
The chart shows us the top 50 songs, but that’s too much to talk about in one sitting. Let’s give you the top 10 hits from 2016…
