2016 is coming to an end and while there are many sad things happening in and around sports like Craig Sager’s passing just a few days ago, there is plenty to be happy about in the world of sports. Craig brought attention to cancer research and showed people that life is more than how long you live, but how you act while on this earth. Amen to that Craig! You will be missed, but you did wonders for us before you left us. Here are some other examples of positives in and around sports these days…
Matt Farrell is just your normal guard for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He’s averaging 14 points and 6 assists per game for the team. Seeing his hard work pay off to the dividends of almost 18 more minutes per game played this year than last is surely great to see. He has even more reason to jump for joy these days. Did you see the surprise his brother who is in the Army gave him? This is a must see video if you haven’t already…
Ezekiel Elliot had a huge game on Sunday Night Football and made an impact in other ways as well. After his touchdown run against the Bucs Sunday night, he jumped into a large Salvation Army bucket. While he drew the penalty flag for it, he said he would be matching the fine from the NFL and giving it to Salvation Army. Well, the fine never came, but this play saw over a 60% increase in donations that night!
