Simon Kirke and Paul Rogers were on top of the world; their song ‘All Right Now” was climbing the charts, their band Free couldn’t find enough dates to book. Unfortunately life mimics rock and roll, and the highs of being so cool didn’t last long. When Free broke up, Paul and Simon began to look for the next big thing. Fortunately, Bad Company was born in the early 70s, and the rest they say is rock and roll history.
Here are our three favorite Bad Company tunes. Let’s see if you agree…
“Seagull” from the LP Bad Company in 1974 was an acoustic marriage between a classic song and a classic singer – Paul Rogers. There may never be a more simple yet rich tune.
“Silver Blue and Gold’ is the standard bearer of Paul Rodgers songs in that he not only delivers on the recording, but uses this song to slow the pace down in live concerts.
“Rock N’ Roll Fantasy” is an important song in that it appeared as the band found itself in a low period, released from the Desolation Angels LP in 1979.
