Giving Thanks This Thanksgiving Day

It’s Thanksgiving Day, a time for the family to gather around the dinner table and reflect upon the things we’re most thankful for. If you’re a movie fan, we think you’ll agree with this list of what we appreciate most this year…

We’re thankful for the movies that remind all of us to be grateful for what we DO have. ‘It’s a Wonderful Life,’ with Jimmy Stewart, ‘Forrest Gump’ starring Tom Hanks, ‘The Shawshank Redemption’ starring Timothy Robbins and Morgan Freeman, and the black and white Lionel Barrymore classic ‘A Christmas Carol’ which remind us of redemption, hope, and change.

For sheer entertainment, we’re thankful for ‘Gone With the Wind,’ ‘The Wizard of Oz,’ ‘Citizen Kane,’ ‘The Sound of Music,’ ‘Star Wars,’ (pick any of your favorites) and ‘Titanic’ with Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.

We’re thankful for the movies that make us feel patriotic like ‘Red Dawn,’ ‘Yankee Doodle Dandy’ with James Cagney, ‘Midway,’ ‘They Were Expendable,’ ‘Saving Private Ryan,’ ‘The Great Escape,’ and ‘Sargent York.’

We’re thankful for the great stars of today, like Harrison Ford, Tom Hanks, Denzel Washington, Samuel L. Jackson, Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Cruise and George Clooney. We love the women in Hollywood like Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Meryl Streep, Sandra Bullock, Angelia Bassett, Jennifer Hudson and Alfre Woodard.

Finally, were thankful for the movies that helped shape our moral compass, like ‘Miracle on 34th Street,’ ‘Bruce Almighty,’ ‘The Bucket List’ and ‘Groundhog Day.

Have a great Thanksgiving everybody!
