Jurgen Klinsmann Relieved of Duties with Team USA Soccer

For the past five years, Jurgen Klinsmann has been the head coach of the US Men’s National soccer team as well was serving as the Technical Director for US Soccer. Announced Monday, Klinsmann has been relieved of both of those duties effectively.

Klinsmann has had mild success as the head coach, finishing with a 55-27-16 record during his time. He advanced out of the “Group of Death” back in 2014, but couldn’t get past the Round of 16 that year. His best year came in 2013 when they won 12 games in a row, a record for the US Men’s National soccer team. All together, they would win 16 games that year.

It is yet to be known who will be replacing Klinsmann at both of these positions, but Bruce Arena is the frontrunner for the head coaching position. We will keep you updated as the decisions are made.
