Bono Receives Huge Honor

Sometimes rock stars receive awards or honors that are atypical and not foreseen, and in the case of U2’s lead singer, Bono, both have happened.

U2s front man Bono has been named Glamour Magazine’s first ever ‘Man Of The Year.’ Glamour Magazine continues to honor deserving women of the year, yet this year has recognized Bono as its first recipient of its new ‘Man Of The Year’ honor. The ‘Women Of The Year’ Awards ceremony took place this week in Los Angeles.

Born Paul David Hewson in 1960, Bono worked hard to achieve stardom while holding onto his faith and morals. Bono is also a shrewd businessman. Did you know that he and lead guitarist Edge, bought and refurbished Dublin’s famous Clarence Hotel, converting it to a five-star 49-bedroom hotel?

Bono has been an activist over the years, throwing his time and energy into AIDS research, feeding the poor, and more. This award will recognize his humanitarian work and his drive to end gender inequality. We’re told that Bono was humbled by the honor.
