What a weekend it was for all of the football world. In college and in the NFL we had great matchups, giving us great games on Saturday and Sunday. Will Monday Night Football give us something to talk about Tuesday? We certainly hope so. Let’s talk what happened this weekend though.
Saturday we saw the number one team, Alabama, be challenged for quite a while until they blew it open. Alabama would win by multiple scores because of their defense finding the end zone in the second half. Ohio State, the country’s number two ranked team, lost a stunner in Happy Valley Saturday night. A blocked field goal returned for touchdown was the game-winning score for Penn State. Auburn was another big winner, taking down Arkansas 56-3. Also, we can’t forget about Houston losing to SMU 38-16!
On Sunday, many teams came from behind to win. The Lions threw a touchdown pass with 18 seconds left to beat Washington while San Diego forced overtime in Atlanta and won on a field goal. Philly took down undefeated Minnesota, while Cleveland remained winless. The Patriots took down the Steelers even though it was on the road and the AFC West remains dominant with the Chiefs and Raiders winning alongside the previously mentioned Chargers.
What a weekend it was in the football world this past weekend!
