The 80s was a decade of awakening for our country; The Cosby Show was a hit, the Challenger blew up on liftoff, we saved ‘baby Jessica,’ early investors of Microsoft and Apple are now millionaires, and the music was hot. Here are more of the best LPs of the 80s…
“Born in the U.S.A.” by Bruce Springsteen, released in 1984, became the soul of the 80s with the title song, “Dancing in the Dark” (starring Cortney Cox at the end of the video).
“My Hometown” and “I’m on Fire” generated huge record album sales. This album was the first LP to be pressed to that new thing the ‘Compact Disk’ (CD) and earned Bruce some of his greatest honors.
Released in 1987, U2’s “The Joshua Tree,” “Where the Streets Have No Name,” “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” and “With or Without You” won Grammy Awards for Album of the Year and Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal in 1988.
