Amy Schumer’s much anticipated The Girl With the Lower Back Tattoo was released on Tuesday and it’s more than just a funny story Schumer tells. She shows how strong and beautiful she is inside. It’s a must read and you’ll see why in just a moment.
While Amy does crack jokes and laugh at herself in this book, she also dives into very personal issues. In it, she talks about a very abusive relationship she had in her 20s where she was threatened with a knife and would be manipulated verbally by her boyfriend. She talks about her tough relationship with her parents who got divorced when she was younger.
There is so much more to Amy Schumer than the comedy routines she does and while she does use jokes to help get her message across, that doesn’t change what she says.
