Michael Phelps declared over the weekend that this Olympics would be his last and boy did he go out with a bang. While many considered him to be the greatest before these Rio Olympics, he certainly solidified it this week.
This weekend, he swam his final race, capping off the 2016 Olympics with four gold medals! He received the gold medals in the 4×200 freestyle relay, 200m butterfly, 4×100 freestyle relay and the 200m individual medley. He would also earn silver in the 100m butterfly.
These 2016 Olympics bring Phelps’ medal total to 29 with 23 of them being gold. What an amazing feat by the undisputed greatest Olympian of all time! Congratulations Michael! We enjoyed watching you perform over the years.
