The Wonder Years Grandfather has Died

It has been said that the greatest gift an actor can receive is work. A working actor will always outpace a ‘shot in the dark’’ or ‘supernova’ (a bright start that shines briefly then burns out, leaving little to remember) all day long.

One of those ‘working character actors’ David Huddleston died this past week at the age of 85. If you’re a fan of the classic movie ‘The Big Lebowski,’ you’ll remember David and his scenes with Jeff Bridges in the film. David also received early acclaim from his interpretation of Ben Franklin in the 70s award winning film ‘1776.’

David built has character actor career with television roles in “Gilmore Girls” “The West Wing,” “Walker Texas Ranger” and “Murder, She Wrote.” David also appeared frequently as the grandfather on “The Wonder Years.”

Early on David garnished attention with his classic role in the movies “Capricorn One,” “Blazing Saddles” and “The Producers.” Hollywood has lost another wonderful talent, David Huddleston, at the age of 85.
