On Monday we discussed the top hitters in baseball so of course we’re going to talk about who tries to get those guys out every game. Today’s focus is pitchers and the names at the top shouldn’t surprise you although there is one that most certainly will.
Clayton Kershaw leads the MLB in ERA this year (1.79), but he’s being missed big time by the Dodgers as he sits on the DL. He has struck out an amazing 145 batters in 121 innings.
Madison Bumgarner is second in baseball in ERA (2.14) and has done it with 142.2 innings pitched. He has struck out 161 batters this season and has given up a whopping 14 home runs.
The most surprising name on the list is none other than Kyle Hendricks. Why would anyone suspect he’d be third in baseball with a 2.27 ERA? Well, he’s cruising this year and is one of the big reasons why the Cubs are doing so great.
