The MLB season is well under way and we have yet to talk about some of the biggest and best performers of the season. Well, let’s change that today as we take a look at some of the hitters having the best seasons so far.
The most impressive season might come from one of the smallest players in baseball, Jose Altuve. The Houston Astros’ second basemen is on pace to reach 40 stolen bases, hit 20 home runs and hit over .350. He’s leading the MLB in hitting by double digits (.360) and is fourth in stolen bases (25).
Mark Trumbo has had one heck of a year in Baltimore, leading the team and MLB in home runs. His 30 home runs is two more than Todd Frazier, while hitting about 70 points better. Honestly, the most surprising part about his stat line is his batting average. Everyone knows this Orioles’ outfielder has some of the best power in the league.
Edwin Encarnacion has the benefit of playing on one of the best offenses in baseball, the Toronto Blue Jays, and has been healthy all season long. Because of this and the fact he’s a great hitter, he leads the MLB in RBI with 87. He has hit 22 doubles and 27 home runs so far this season.
