Love has always been the word best used in songs of the heart; often times the word love propels the sing to higher awareness and chart success. Here are a few more ‘Love’ songs that you will love to read about…
“Love to Love You Baby” by the late Donna Summer released at the height of disco in 1975, became one of Donna’s bestselling singles and signature songs. Donna was unknown at the time living in Germany ranking out dance studio songs when the tune hit the US charts. How big was the song in retrospect? The Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame called it one of the 500 Songs That Shaped Rock and Roll. Not bad for a disco song.
“Love is the Answer” by England Dan and John Ford Coley in the mid-70s became a big hit for the due, written by Todd Rundgren. If you’ve ever heard Todd’s version you will appreciate the musical license taken to create such a commercial successful song. The two met in a Dallas high school, churning out million selling albums until they went their separate ways in the 90s. Sadly, Dan Seals died of Lymphoma in 2009.
“Love Ballad” by Jeffery Osborn and LTD (Love, Togetherness and Devotion) came out of Greensboro, NC staring the vocal talents of Jeffery. The song is the ultimate ‘make out’ song and still sounds wonderful today.
