The NFL season seems forever away, but realistically it’ll be here before we know it. We’re getting excited just thinking about the season! Will the Denver Broncos repeat with a new quarterback under center? Will Cam Newton have a chance at revenge? Which team will be the surprise contender come playoff time? Let’s take a look at some of the story lines we’ll be seeing unfold in front of our eyes this fall…
The Jacksonville Jaguars have plenty of young talent and many expect them to surprise in 2016. The AFC South is led by the Indianapolis Colts, but there’s no reason to think they’re going to run away with this division. We like the Jags, but think they’re one year away from becoming great.
The Oakland Raiders surprised many last year by winning seven games and we think they’re going to get even better this year. The Broncos can’t possibly go 12-4 again without Peyton Manning under center and the Chiefs aren’t intimidating on paper. Look for the Raiders to come close to 10 wins.
The Detroit Lions will be an interesting team to watch this year, but maybe not for long. Without Calvin Johnson out wide, how does Matt Stafford perform? Will Golden Tate become a number one receiver? Does the Lions defense improve with DeAndre Levy returning from injury? They better hope so if they want to contend for a playoff birth.
