Great Songs From Bad Company

Simon Kirke and Paul Rogers were on top of the world with their song “All Right Now.” It was climbing the charts so fast that their band Free couldn’t find enough dates to book. Unfortunately life mimics rock and roll, and the highs of being so cool didn’t last long. When Free broke up, Paul and Simon began to look for the next big thing. Fortunately, Bad Company was born in the early 70s, and the rest they say is rock and roll history.

Here are our favorite Bad Company tunes. Let’s see if you agree…

“Can’t Get Enough” from the self-entitled ‘Bad Company’ LP in 1974 is the textbook reason this band sounded different then, and still rocking today. Mick Ralphs plays his axe with an open C tuning, becoming the signature tune for new fans.

“Silver Blue and Gold” is the standard bearer of Paul Rodgers songs in that he not only delivers on the recording, but uses this song to slow the pace down in live concerts.

“Shooting Star” and “Rock N’ Roll Fantasy” are not typical rock songs that demonstrate the versatility of Mick and Paul and their insight into the journey of rock.
