Washington’s Greatest Rockers of All Time

Let’s take a summer trip to the state to Washington, all the way the left of the country. Did you know that the great state of Washington has given the rock world many famous rockers?

Here are a list of our favorites…

Ann and Nancy Wilson stared as sisters, singing their favorite songs as little girls while at the dinner table growing up in Seattle. They were actually all born in California, moving to Seattle when their military dad retired. The Beatles appearing on the Ed Sullivan Show became a watershed moment for the girls, each promising to take a musical journey when they grew up.

Yes, Nirvana was from Aberdeen, Washington and yes they were the post children of the ‘grunge’ movement, but did you know that the band produced only three studio albums and were together less than seven years? Kurt Cobain took his own life on April 5th, 1994 although many still believe he was murdered.

Perhaps the most famous Washington state alumni is Jimi Hendrix, hailing from Seattle. Jimi is a proud member of the ’27’ club (famous musicians that mysteriously die at the age of 27)

Other significant musicians from the state of Washington are Kenny Loggins, Dave Matthews, Duffy from Guns N’ Roses, and Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder all hail from the great state of Washington.
