Performances at the BET Awards

Earlier in the week, we talked about the winners at the BET Awards, but we have yet to discuss a few of the performers! Sure Kirk Franklin won Best Gospel/Inspirational Artist, Bryson Tiller won Best Male R&B/Pop Artist, and Beyonce won Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, but who put the show over the top with their great performance?

Beyonce and Kendrick Lamar started it all off with a great performance of “Freedom,” which was a surprise to us all. Jennifer Hudson tried her hand at “Purple Rain” while Silal performed “The Beautiful Ones” and the two-some of Stevie Wonder and Tori Kelly sang “Take Me with.” Those three songs were done in memory of Prince of course.

Alicia Keys sang her latest hit, “In Common.” Usher belted out “No Limit” with Young Thug and Desiigner hit us with “Panda,” the wildly successful recent single. Other performers included Fat Joe, Remy Ma, Maxwell, Shelia E, and Janelle Monet among a few others.
