It’s been 50 years since we turned on the TV and hear a song from the opening of a TV show that included the lyrics “Hey hey we’re the Monkees, and people say we monkey around” but as they say what comes around goes around, thus the 60s music sensation known as the Monkees have recorded their first album in over 20 years, which includes a tour this summer!
Davey Jones died in 2012, but the surviving Monkees, Mickey Dolenz, Peter Tork and Mike Nesmith are actually speaking to each other and are excited to record and tour. The tour will begin initially in Australia.

Yes, Michael Nesmith’s mother invented liquid paper making him rich after her death, thus he was never in a hurry to get back on the road or toil in the current music industry.
Although they originally did not record or perform their music the first few years, they were actually talented musicals who persuaded the producers to let them play and record. Most of the early songs were written by super stars Neil Diamond, Andy Kim, or Boyce and Hart (“I Wonder What She’s Doing Tonight”).
