Alabama on Tour this Summer

Alabama is one of the tried and true country bands that every stepped on stage. Can you imagine being a country band in the middle of disco, rock, punk and alternative music? Alabama began in Fort Payne, Alabama in 1969, as Randy Owen, and cousins Teddy Gentry Jeff Cook got together to make sweet country music. They eventually added Bennett Vartanian in 1972. The group called themselves ‘Wildcountry’ and their first real gig was playing a season at the nearby Canyonland theme park.

Alabama succeeded in taking country music mainstream, having sold more than 100 million albums over the years. They were the first country act to incorporate the sounds of contemporary music like rock, funk, and even ballad to widen their appeal. Alabama is a concert well worth taking in, so be sure to fill up the car and see them in person this summer. This is the Southern Drawl’ 2016 Tour…
