Florence and the Machine has done a great job of finding success and keeping it and that’s very evident over the past 12 months. It was one year ago this week that the band released the album, “How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful,” and saw it receive plenty of attention.
The accolades this album piled up included five Grammy nominations and even included being a finalist for the 2015 Mercury Prize. The Grammy nominations included Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Recording Package, Best Rock Song, Best Rock Performance, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. It didn’t take home any hardware, but this album definitely made people aware of how great the band is.
Rolling Stone named it the third best Pop Album of 2015 and Time Out London ranked it fourth on their Top 50 Best Albums of 2015 list. By year’s end, the album finished at number one on 11 different charts across the globe.
