On Thursday, we discussed the top teams in the American League and how the divisions looked. To end this week, we’re going to be doing the same, but for the National League. We have much wide races going on in the National League with the Cubs leading the way with the best record. **Stats as of Thursday morning.
The National League East is being led by the Nationals. They have a three game lead over the Mets. These Mets should be looking to add a piece or two before the trade deadline to help them try to overtake the Nationals for the top spot.
The Cubs have played like the best team in the National League and their record shows that. They are 36-15 this season and hold a 7.5 game lead over the Pirates. The Cubs have cooled down since an unreal start, but are still 7-3 over their last 10.
The Giants also started a little slow and have gone on to have a 33-22 record this season. They’re up 4.5 games on their rival, the Dodgers, and will have to continue to play well with the Dodgers being 7-3 over their last 10. The Dodgers have done a good job of getting hot with the summer arriving.
