More One Hit Wonders We Love

So what were the best classic rock one hit wonder songs of all time? You know, songs that hit the charts just once, disappearing into that good night. Here’s a quick look at some more of our favorite one hit wonders…

Ram Jam’s “Black Betty” is the cover of an early 1900s blues song from Huddie “Lead Belly” Ledbetter. This version has a catchy and soulful hook and guitar riff.

“Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo” is an awesome rock anthem from Rick Derringer. If you remember the McCoy’s song “Hang on Sloopy” you’ll appreciate Rick. He was the lead singer and guitarist.

“Werewolves of London” by the late Warren Zevon is a wonderful example of a song that just won’t die. Other artist’s, decades later, grabbed its hook – Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Sweet Home Alabama” and Kid Rock’s “All Summer Long” are hauntingly identical.

T. Rex and “Bang a Gong” was a Glam Rock sensation performed by the bands leader Marc Bolan. Marc tragically died at the age of 29, leaving millions to Bolan and his mom.
