Getting to Know Thomas Rhett

Thomas Rhett Akins, Jr. has had some big shoes to fill given his father is the famous and successful Rhett Akins. He’s doing just fine as Thomas Rhett though. His latest album, “It Goes Like This,” has given radio at least five singles.

Thomas was born in Valdosta, GA, and was no stranger to country music and its stars, as his famous father often had Brooks and Dunn and other stars over for dinner. Thomas is an accomplished musician as a drummer, guitar player, and pianist, but it’s his knack for writing hit songs that make this handsome cowboy a real talent.

Thomas has written for Jason Aldean, Lee Brice, and Florida Georgia Line, and Rhett co-wrote the song “I Ain’t Ready to Quit” on Jason Aldean’s 2010 album My Kinda Party. In 2015, he earned big wins from ASCAP Country Music Awards and the BMI Country Music Awards.

On a personal note, Thomas is also a helpless romantic, having wed Lauren Gregory, whom he has known since first grade. Look for Thomas to be part of the list of performers at the biggest country music festivals this summer.
