We’ve been talking about the Billboard Music Awards all week, so why stop now? Let’s talk how these winners are determined and some previous winners…
The BBMAs are unique in that they are decided by numbers and not votes. The winner is decided by whoever has the most airplay, downloads, and sales in the United States according to Nielsen.
Taylor Swift to no one’s surprise has won many awards during her time as a singer and entertainer. She has won 25 Teen Choice Awards, her most of any award. Her second most won award is the Billboard Music Award.
Taylor has won Billboard Music Awards in every year except one (2012) since 2009 and the majority of them came in 2013 and 2015. In those two years, she won eight awards with Top Artist being her biggest prize. Her albums in both those years, “Red” and “1989,” won Top Billboard 200 Album both times as well!
Taylor has won 22 awards at the BBMAs, ranging from Top Artist to Top Female Artist to Top 100 Artist to Top Streaming Song (Video) to Billboard Chart Achievement Award. What an amazing performer and singer she is and she’s certainly deserved all 22 of those awards she has won.
