The Go-Go’s began breaking the glass ceiling in 1978, remaining the only all-female band to write, perform and sing original songs. Nominated for ‘Best New Artist’ in 1982, the girls have had their share of ups and downs, depression, addiction and more. Belinda Carlisle had a moderately successful solo tour, while the other members had slight success.
