Classics From the 80s – Part Two

You don’t often think of the 80s as a decade that gave us ‘Classic’ songs, but indeed the 80s were both Classic and memorable. Here are more of our ‘Classics from the 80s.’

“Jump” by Van Halen proved the band owned the 80s, regardless of whether you’re a David or Sammy fan. This was an MTV hot rotation video.

“I Love Rock N’ Roll” from Joan Jett is the song that proved the ladies could rock in a male dominated 80s scene, getting her a ticket to the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame.

Night Ranger’s “Sister Christian” was actually about the lead singer’s sister, but we didn’t care. This piano driven rock ballad opened the doors for more ballads and lighters in a dark auditorium.

“Little Red Corvette” by the artist formerly known as Prince knocked everyone off their feet. Who was this little rocker from Minneapolis? The album 1999 was light years ahead of its time. Rock comes in all colors, shapes and sizes. Prince broke that ceiling in the 80s.
