How Adele Came to Greatness

Adele is an extremely talented performer who has been on the music charts for the last few years. Nearly every time she performs live it takes our breath away. Let’s spend a couple of days getting to know her better…

Adele came into this world in May of 1988 as Adele Laurie Blue Adkins. Her father walked out on the family when she was two and her mother struggled for years to right that ship.

Adele attended the Britt School for the Performing Arts and Technology, where as luck would have it, her classmates were Leona Lewis and Jessie J.

Adele credits the work of Etta James, the Spice Girls, and Ella Fitzgerald as early influences in the way she thinks about music and the way she performs onstage. If you harken back to these soul singers, you’ll hear that Adele seems to channel both Etta and Ella in her style.

This incredible singer is in the Guinness Book of Records for being the first woman to have three simultaneous top 10 singles, two albums in the top five, two singles in the top 5 in Britain’s Hot 100, plus the most YouTube views for a single (“Hello”).
