Recently, Kelly Clarkson, Missy Elliott, Kelly Rowland, Actress Zendaya and Glee star Lea Michelle teamed up with the First Lady Michelle Obama to record a song! The First Lady is the driving force behind the music project called ‘This is For My Girls,’ dedicating talent and promotions to support the Peach Corps ‘Let Girls Learn’ Fund.
Songwriter Diane Warren had a large part of the creation of the anthem for girls worldwide. You know her as a singer from “Up Where We Belong” the Officer and a Gentlemen movie theme with Je Cocker, while her writing credits include hits from Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Kenny G, Justin Bieber, Whitney Houston, Michael Bolton, Barbara Streisand, Toni Braxton and more.
The song was released in conjunction with Michelle Obama’s appearance at the alternative SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas last week, and is available now on iTunes.
