Miranda Kerr Explains Why She Turned Down Victoria’s Secret Runway Comeback

Miranda Kerr may have helped define an era of Victoria’s Secret runway glamour, but the Australian supermodel has decided that some chapters are better celebrated than revisited.

The 43-year-old former Victoria’s Secret Angel recently explained why she turned down an invitation to participate in the brand’s 2026 fashion show, despite initially being enthusiastic about the opportunity.

During a November 3 appearance on Amanda Hirsch’s Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, Kerr revealed that the prospect of returning to the runway brought up unexpected feelings of anxiety.

At first, the invitation stirred memories of the excitement, friendships and unforgettable experiences she enjoyed during her years with the lingerie brand. But as she seriously considered participating, she began questioning whether stepping onto the runway in lingerie still felt comfortable for her.

Now a mother of four sons, Kerr recognized that her perspective had changed considerably since her modeling days with Victoria’s Secret.

Rather than dismissing those feelings, she turned to meditation to better understand her hesitation. Even after trying to work through her discomfort, she continued experiencing a physical sense of unease whenever she imagined returning to the show.

Eventually, Kerr realized that declining the invitation was the decision that felt most natural. Once she made that choice, the anxiety she had been experiencing subsided.

Her decision wasn’t rooted in resentment toward Victoria’s Secret or a desire to distance herself from her modeling career. In fact, Kerr expressed genuine appreciation that the company wanted her back, particularly at a time when the invitation coincided with a significant anniversary.

Kerr first appeared in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in 2006 and became an official Angel the following year. She ultimately participated in six shows, with her final runway appearance for the brand taking place in 2012.

Among her most memorable moments was wearing the elaborate Fantasy Treasure Bra in 2011, a jewelry-covered creation valued at $2.5 million.

Those experiences remain an important part of her professional history, but Kerr no longer feels the need to recreate them.

She had previously addressed her absence from the 2026 show in an October 18 Instagram post, commemorating 20 years since her Victoria’s Secret debut. The message celebrated the relationships and experiences that shaped that period of her career while acknowledging her decision to leave those memories in the past.

For Kerr, the invitation represented recognition of her enduring influence in fashion. Accepting it, however, would have meant returning to an environment that no longer aligned with her personal comfort.

Her reflections offer an interesting perspective on the expectations surrounding former supermodels, particularly those whose careers became closely associated with a specific image or moment in fashion history.

While some models embrace the opportunity to return to familiar runways, Kerr’s experience demonstrates that choosing a different direction can be equally meaningful.

Twenty years after her Victoria’s Secret debut, she remains appreciative of the career that helped make her internationally recognizable. But she is also comfortable acknowledging that the woman she is today has different priorities from the young model who first stepped onto that runway.

And for Kerr, being at peace with that evolution matters more than making another memorable entrance.
