Lady Gaga has entered a new era, and this one comes with a distinctly musical name.
The pop superstar and her fiancé, Michael Polansky, welcomed their first child, a daughter named Rose Bean Polansky, on June 9, 2026, according to documents reported by PEOPLE.
While representatives for the couple have not publicly confirmed the baby’s sex or name, PEOPLE reports that the inspiration behind the name reaches deep into Gaga’s musical history.
Rose is reportedly connected to “La Vie En Rose,” the French standard Gaga performed in the 2018 film A Star Is Born. The song has become particularly associated with the singer, who also has a large rose tattoo along her spine accompanied by the words “la vie en rose.”
The baby’s middle name may carry another musical connection. PEOPLE reports that Bean is believed to be a tribute to activist and musician Carl Bean. His 1977 recording “I Was Born This Way,” which became an LGBTQ+ anthem, was among the inspirations behind Gaga’s own blockbuster anthem “Born This Way.”
The arrival marks a major personal milestone for Gaga, who had spoken publicly about wanting to become a mother long before welcoming her first child.
Polansky has also become increasingly connected to Gaga’s creative world. The couple began their relationship publicly in 2020, and Gaga confirmed their engagement in 2024. Polansky later worked with her on the 2025 album Mayhem, earning co-producing and songwriting credits.
Now, the pair appear to be trading recording sessions and red carpets for some valuable family time.
After completing her tour in April, Gaga has reportedly been enjoying a quieter stretch away from public life as she settles into motherhood.
For an artist whose career has repeatedly mixed music with deeply personal expression, even the name chosen for her daughter appears to carry a melody of its own.
