Naomi Watts has plenty to celebrate as her daughter Kai Schreiber takes another major step forward in the fashion world.
The 17-year-old model received the Breakthrough Model of the Year honor from The Daily Front Row, adding a significant achievement to a career that is already gathering momentum.
Watts marked the occasion by publicly celebrating her daughter and expressing her pride in Kai’s accomplishments. She highlighted the teenager’s longstanding passion for fashion, as well as the creativity and supportive community that passion has helped bring into her life.
Kai stepped up to accept the award in a vivid green mini dress, with her famous mother also joining her on the red carpet for the special occasion.
While Kai may still be a teenager, her interest in modeling is anything but new.
She has previously spoken about dreaming of becoming a supermodel from an early age, even practicing runway walks around the family kitchen and recruiting her mother to record her performances.
Kai has also discussed how her relationship with fashion developed alongside her experience with gender identity. Growing up, she was drawn to images of glamorous and influential women, and that fascination eventually became part of a serious ambition to work in the fashion industry.
Her parents have publicly supported that ambition.
Kai’s father, actor Liev Schreiber, previously came to her defense after critics questioned the opportunities she received as the child of two successful actors.
