Molly Ringwald is opening up about one of the least enjoyable chapters of her career.
During a recent appearance on *Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen*, the actress reflected on several of her best-known projects and did not hesitate when asked to rank them. She placed *The Secret Life of the American Teenager* at the bottom of her list, calling it the worst professional experience she has had.
Ringwald explained that her opinion was not based on the series itself or the majority of the people involved. Instead, she said a single individual made working on the show extremely difficult. While she refused to identify the person or explain their role on the production, she made it clear that the experience overshadowed her time on the long-running drama.
The actress was quick to praise the rest of the cast, especially series star Shailene Woodley, with whom she shared many scenes. Ringwald played Anne Juergens, the mother of Woodley’s character Amy, during the show’s five-season run from 2008 through 2013.
Looking back on her career, Ringwald drew a sharp contrast between that television experience and her memories of *Pretty in Pink*. She described the beloved 1986 film as one of the high points of her career, noting that writer John Hughes crafted the movie specifically with her in mind.
