The project was originally developed with Amazon MGM Studios, but the studio later stepped away from distributing the completed film. Amazon stated that it believes the movie would be better released by another studio, while the production team continues to seek a new distribution partner. The move sparked industry conversation because it followed Amazon’s significant partnership with OpenAI, though the company has not linked the two decisions.
