Iron Maiden is taking a major step toward securing its future after agreeing to sell a 50 percent stake in its music catalog and intellectual property to Swedish entertainment company Pophouse Entertainment.
The agreement includes a share of the band’s publishing rights, master recordings, and name, image, and likeness rights. Rather than signaling an end to the legendary metal group’s career, the partnership is intended to expand Iron Maiden’s reach through new creative projects while keeping the band closely involved in the process.
Pophouse has built a reputation for transforming legendary artists into multimedia entertainment brands through immersive productions and long-term licensing strategies. The company has previously worked with ABBA, KISS, Tina Turner, and Cyndi Lauper, and now plans to bring the same approach to one of heavy metal’s most influential acts.
Among the first projects being discussed are a feature film connected to the band’s current Run For Your Lives World Tour and additional experiences inspired by Eddie, Iron Maiden’s instantly recognizable mascot. Executives believe the band’s music, artwork, and storytelling offer significant opportunities for future entertainment ventures.
Iron Maiden manager Rod Smallwood said the partnership will provide the financial backing and creative resources needed to move long-standing ideas from the drawing board to reality. He emphasized that fans can expect even more from the band in the years ahead as the collaboration develops.
With more than five decades of history and over 100 million records sold worldwide, Iron Maiden joins a growing list of major artists choosing strategic partnerships to preserve and expand their musical legacy. Rather than looking back, the band is positioning itself to introduce its music and iconic imagery to new generations of fans through film, immersive experiences, and other creative projects.
