Max Holloway is entering UFC 329 with plenty of confidence, believing he has the tools to defeat Conor McGregor and extend one of the sport’s most recognizable rivalries.
The former UFC featherweight champion said he expects to leave Las Vegas with a victory when he faces McGregor in the main event on July 11. Holloway also believes a win would create the opportunity for a third meeting between the two fighters, adding another chapter to a rivalry that began more than a decade ago.
Their first encounter came in 2013, when a rising McGregor earned a unanimous decision over a then 21-year-old Holloway. Since that bout, Holloway has developed into one of the UFC’s most accomplished competitors, capturing championship gold and building a reputation for durability, high-volume striking, and elite performances against the sport’s top names.
McGregor returns to competition after an extended absence that has kept him out of the Octagon for more than five years. Despite the lengthy layoff, the former two-division champion remains one of the biggest attractions in mixed martial arts, making his comeback one of the year’s most anticipated events.
For Holloway, the matchup represents more than a chance to avenge an early career loss. He views it as an opportunity to prove how much he has evolved while positioning himself for another marquee showdown if he delivers on his prediction.
With two of the UFC’s biggest stars set to headline International Fight Week, UFC 329 is expected to draw worldwide attention as both fighters look to shape the next chapter of their careers.
