There are some foods that simply don’t need defending, and cinnamon rolls are one of them. Dough, cinnamon sugar, frosting, the little center bite that everyone knows is the entire point—what more are we looking for here? Apparently, as Delish reports, the answer is that, but in Oreo form.
Oreo is bringing back its limited-edition Cinnamon Bun Cookies for the first time in a decade, featuring cinnamon-flavored cookies with cinnamon bun-flavored creme, giving fans like me the whole cinnamon-sugar situation without the need to preheat an oven.
The return also comes as Oreo has been keeping the cookie aisle very busy. The brand recently teamed up with BTS for a limited-edition cookie inspired by hotteok, a Korean brown sugar pancake, and now it’s following that up with the return of a top-tier bakery-inspired flavor.
And apparently, a lot of people have been waiting for this moment. Oreo says Cinnamon Bun is one of the brand’s most requested flavors, and based on the fan reaction online, that tracks. Once Oreo broke the news on Instagram with the caption “10 years of yearning and it’s BACK,” the cookie’s loyal fanbase immediately started celebrating the comeback.

“These were delicious the last time! Glad they are back!” someone else wrote, while another fan admitted, “I never knew I needed something so bad.” One person was even negotiating with Oreo to make this return permanent, which, if a flavor has enough people remembering it 10 years later, maybe it deserves a little more stability.
The cookies are set to hit retailers nationwide starting July 6 for a limited time while supplies last, so get ready, get set, get yourself to the cookie aisle!
