Represent has teamed up with legendary rock group The Beach Boys to launch a limited-edition streetwear capsule celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Pet Sounds album.
As Hypebae reports, the collection, dropping right before the band’s headline show at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, marks a new direction for the brand by trading its usual moody rock aesthetic for sunny West Coast energy.
The delivery reinterprets classic band merch through a luxury lens, opting for bleached tones and a warm Californian color palette. The graphics pull from the album’s original 1966 San Diego Zoo photo shoot, incorporating full tracklists onto various pieces. Standout items include the 1983 Tee featuring a custom embroidered chest logo and the hand-dyed blue tie-dye Script Tee. The Americas Band Hoodie arrives with a hand-painted look, sporting gradient color pans and pre-cracked printing for a lived-in feel.
The range also introduces the brand’s first collaborative women’s piece, the Pet Sounds Baby Tee, in a faded gray wash. For accessories, the label linked up with headwear brand ‘47 to design sun-bleached caps adorned with a hand-distressed peak and a removable beaded bracelet displaying British and American flags.
The Represent x The Beach Boys collection is now available via the Represent website. You can also shop the capsule at the brand’s London, Manchester and Los Angeles stores.
