Do you remember last year’s Starbucks Bearista cup feeding frenzy?
As Delish reports, between the vicious crowds, overpriced resells, and online dupes, the whole thing had the same frantic energy as a Trader Joe’s tote drop with a little bit of whipped cream on top. Starbucks even had to pivot later and make the next Bearista release a contest situation, which tells you everything you need to know about how normal everyone was being. So the idea of more Bearista cups possibly coming? Hold onto your Frapps, people.
A few days ago, Snackolator posted on Instagram that two new pink Bearista cold glass cups are launching in South Korea. According to the post, the cups are different shades of pink and meant to evoke “different moods,” following the runaway success of the original green version.
To be clear, there is no U.S. release announced (at least not yet). But because the green Bearista cup ended up making its way around the world, people are already assuming these pink versions could eventually do the same.
And judging by the reaction, many fans are split between needing it immediately and never wanting to put Starbucks employees through this again. “Thank god it’s Korea exclusive we do not need this again 😂,” one person wrote. Another said, “please god no free me i don’t wanna deal with this again,” which is relatable for anyone who lived through the first one.
Other people were already looking ahead to the possible mess. “Can’t wait for the fighting video on TikTok😂😂😂,” one person wrote. Another guessed it might actually be easier to just get one shipped from Korea than try to score one in the U.S., which, based on recent history, might not be a bad idea.
So while nothing is confirmed beyond the Korea launch, if Starbucks ever decides to bring these pink Bearistas stateside, everyone involved—customers, baristas, and innocent bystanders—should probably brace themselves accordingly.
