Sun Dont Shine, a new heavy music supergroup formed by seasoned veterans from legendary bands including Type O Negative and Crowbar, has unveiled its latest single, “Power To Live,” giving fans an early taste of its debut album. The band brings together guitarist and vocalist Kenny Hickey, guitarist Kirk Windstein, bassist Todd Strange, and drummer Johnny Kelly, all of whom contribute decades of experience to the project.
The new track serves as a powerful statement on resilience and awareness, challenging listeners to confront humanity’s ongoing struggles with violence and destruction. Written by Hickey and Windstein and recorded in mid-2025, “Power To Live” blends crushing heaviness with brooding musicality, showcasing the group’s signature sludge-infused sound.
Set to appear on the band’s first full-length album, Birth to Death, scheduled for release in April 2026 via Corpse Paint Records, the single marks an important milestone in the band’s journey from side project to fully realized collective. Alongside the audio release, a music video directed by Mike Holderbeast is slated to debut later in February, enhancing the song’s emotional and visual impact.
To celebrate the launch, Sun Dont Shine teamed up with artist Nadiya Vizier to produce a limited edition set of posters, stickers, and caps that reflect the single’s themes and artwork — items that are available strictly in limited quantities.
“Power To Live” continues to build anticipation for Birth to Death, a record that promises to merge the raw intensity of sludge metal with the seasoned craftsmanship of its members. The release underscores the band’s commitment to heavy, thought-provoking music that resonates with listeners on both sonic and emotional levels.
