Victoria’s Secret Is Revealing What’s Behind Runway Curtain

Grand finale of Victoria's Secret fashion show with angels/models smiling and waving at audience

The Victoria’s Secret fashion show has now been running for almost 30 years, with the generational event bringing glitz, glam and major performances since before some of us were born. In that time, the brand experienced a crazy ride with a meteoric rise, a fiery crash back to earth and a flight from the ashes that has kept fans on their toes.

As Hypebae reports, while the event achieved huge success as the first-ever lingerie runway show, reaching around 10 million viewers at its peak in the early 2010s, this soon dropped off and the brand started to face scrutiny for its dated messaging in a changing world.

Then in 2019, Victoria’s Secret took a brief hiatus from the shows to try to reconnect with its audience. After a wobbly return in 2024, the most recent show was finally met with fan approval once more thanks to the brand embracing diversity while keeping the essence of what viewers loved in the first place.

Now it’s finally time we get a peek behind the curtain.

This month, the brand is releasing The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Documentary, directed by Dave Laven, as the cameras follow the executive creative director, Adam Selman, for an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the days leading up to one of the industry’s major nights of the year.

Fans can expect to get a peak inside all the glitz and glamour, the high-caliber talent and even (hopefully) some backstage drama. The doc aims to offer viewers a uniquely intimate look into the world of intimates and angels on the catwalk.

The documentary is being released to streaming today, January 28, on the Victoria’s Secret website.
