MAC Cosmetics has tapped Chappell Roan as its latest global brand ambassador, effective early 2026.

“Partnering with MAC feels full circle,” she said in a statement. “This brand has always made space for people like me; since day one, they’ve embraced art, queerness, drag and self-expression.” The singer continues, “I’ve built a special relationship with the MAC team over the years, and they’ve been amazing and thoughtful collaborators on this new journey. I can’t wait for the time when I can share what we’ve made with people everywhere.”

As PEOPLE magazine reports, the gig comes after Roan collaborated with MAC on her 2024 MTV Video Music Awards2024 Saturday Night Live and 2025 Grammys makeup looks.  For the VMAs, makeup artist Andrew Dahling said at the time that he tapped into her “goddess energy” to create her look

Weeks later for SNL, Roan — born Kayleigh Rose Amstutz — and Dahling started glam 12 hours early, and the process was well-worth it. “I only wear MAC,” the performer said backstage. Dahling described her Grammys vibe as “an archive moment.” “I wanted to keep it in that romantic, Victorian world,” the pro said in a video.

After collaborating on these unforgettable looks, it was a no-brainer to bring in Dahling to create the makeup for Roan’s debut campaign, shot by legendary photography duo Inez & Vinoodh.  Said the pro, “Chappell’s first MAC campaign is a modern take on androgyny that feels powerful, graphic, and unmistakably her. I drew from film-noir monochrome and 1930s military references and then layered in her signature high glamour.”

Nicola Formichetti, MAC Cosmetics global creative director, called Roan “one of the most exciting and powerful artists of this generation, a true creative force who uses beauty as a form of bold, emotional storytelling.” He added, “Chappell represents a generation that values authenticity, queer joy and fearless self-expression, which aligns perfectly with MAC and our mission of ‘All Ages, All Races, All Genders.’ Her love for her community, especially her commitment to LGBTQIA+ voices and rights, reflects the heart of what MAC has championed since the beginning.”

MAC Cosmetics SVP and Global General Manager Aïda Moudachirou-Rebois shared in a release, “We partnered with Chappell early on in her rise to fame, supporting her makeup artistry and vision for a few of her career defining moments, and since our first interaction, we knew there was more ground to cover together. Not only is her story one of perseverance and grit, but she continues to electrify any space she occupies.”
