After years of teasing, delays, and cryptic updates, Slipknot’s elusive side project Look Outside Your Window has once again been pushed — this time into 2026. The experimental album, first recorded during the band’s 2008 All Hope Is Gone sessions, was never a traditional Slipknot release. Crafted by a stripped-down quartet of Shawn “Clown” Crahan, Corey Taylor, Jim Root, and Sid Wilson, the album has gained near-mythical status over the years.
Clown recently confirmed that although the record is finished, fans will have to wait just a bit longer. Despite earlier suggestions that the album would finally arrive in 2025, he now says 2026 is the new target. The veteran percussionist, clearly as frustrated as the fans, expressed his own impatience and admitted the process is out of his hands, now resting with Slipknot’s management.
Unlike the band’s signature aggressive metal sound, Look Outside Your Window leans into a melodic, more atmospheric rock vibe. Taylor has previously compared its feel to that of Radiohead, signaling a major departure from the Slipknot playbook. This creative divergence, combined with the album’s long gestation period, has only fueled its intrigue.
While no official date has been confirmed, this new update provides a clear signal that the long wait may finally be coming to an end. If the stars align in 2026, fans will hear a side of Slipknot they’ve never experienced before — fifteen years after the music was first recorded.
