Want to make that Thanksgiving dinner vibe last just a little while longer? How about all year round? Well Heinz wants to help, by launching its first-ever squeezable gravy bottle.
As Food & Wine reports, the Heinz Leftover Gravy bottles are now available exclusively via Walmart.com. Each 12-ounce squeezable bottle is filled with the brand’s signature Heinz Homestyle Turkey Gravy, now in a mess-free format. While Heinz offers several different types of gravy in jars, the new, squeezable format will only come with turkey gravy inside.
In one of the most iconic episodes of the widely beloved sitcom Friends, Ross Geller introduces the world to the “Moist Maker,” a Thanksgiving leftovers sandwich that’s taken to another level by the gravy-soaked slice of bread at its center. (The genius concept comes courtesy of his sister and chef Monica Geller, of course.)
Heinz is fully leaning into this Friends lore by tying its latest launch to the famous “Moist Maker” sandwich. To score the squeezable gravy, you’ll need to order a 12-ounce jar of Heinz Homestyle Turkey Gravy on Walmart’s website. Alongside the classic jar, fans will receive a limited-edition Heinz Leftover Gravy Kit, while supplies last. Each kit includes a new squeezable bottle of the gravy and a recipe card for crafting the ultimate Thanksgiving leftovers sandwich.
Although it debuted on television in 1998, the Moist Maker has become an annual source of millennial nostalgia on TikTok. Every year creators take to social media to share their own version of the iconic dish, albeit without squeezable gravy, until now. Focusing on this pop culture icon allows Heinz to emphasize the importance of its brand’s role on Thanksgiving and the days after.
Jamie Mack, associate director of brand communications for Heinz U.S., explains that, “While Heinz Gravy has always been a fan favorite on the Thanksgiving table, we decided to focus our attention on the day-after ritual — because we all know leftovers are the best part, and our unmistakably rich and smooth gravy makes them that much better.”
As Mack goes on to note, “Now, Heinz is celebrating the fans who share an irrational love of the nostalgic sandwich by providing the key to a delicious day-after sandwich: Heinz Leftover Gravy.”
The flavor of the brand’s Homestyle Turkey Gravy is classic. It’s made with real turkey broth, in addition to simple spices like salt, onion powder, and black pepper. That simple, savory profile would likely pair well with whatever stuffing recipe, cranberry sauce, or other sides you choose to put on your leftovers sandwich.
Ross would definitely approve.
